TRAVEL AND FLY WITH PETS
Now a Days life is changing, we are not travelling with ourselves, not only parents and children travelling with plane now they are going with their lovely pets too. Most common people love to go out with their pets, because they are one of the reason of fun, they can make journey more interesting and fun. Car is the most common transporting vehicle for Pets, Even it looks nice when a pet sees out from the car.
Yes we want to travel with pets, but travelling with pets is not easy, lots of formalities and administrations stuffs stops us to take them with us. Here in this website I am going to describe what we should do in order to travel – fly with pets. Travelling in a plane with pets even in a cabin with you or in a shipping cargo section, is full of stress not even for pets but it is stressful for you too. Additionally, flying with pets is highly expensive and dangerous because of high altitude and low air pressure, it can cause serious illness for pets.

Here is the list of airlines and cargo who offers services and allows you to carry pets with you, either they allow you to carry with you or cabin. Please check in detail what they are offering and what are the procedures.

Which airlines Should you choose?
If you want to fly with pets internationally, then you good choice of airlines.
British Airlines carries pets but they do not allow yo to carry with you in the cabin but they arrange transport using British Airways World Cargo (via a Pet Travel Agent).
Virgin Atlantic also offers cargo services for cats and dogs.
KLM also offers cargo service specially for small cats and dogs weighing up to 6kg (13lbs) (including a kennel or travel bag) may be taken into the cabin. You should reserve at least 48 hours in advance of travel. Household pets (cats and dogs) may travel as check-in baggage too. Alternatively, pets can be transported as freight with Air France-KLM Cargo. This is the option for heavier animals (and their kennels) that weigh more than 75kg (165lbs) for flights to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Kenya, South Africa or the United Arab Emirates.
Lufthansa carries pets in the cabin (up to 8kg) or as cargo (in a container that is IATA approved).
Whichever airline you choose to fly with, you will always need to call and reserve your pet’s travel. While some airlines allow pets in the cabin, others do not and while there is always an administrative charge for the transport of animals, these can vary hugely by airline. Research all these factors before you select a carrier.
if you are looking for low cost carriers then you will be disappointing there are few carriers who offers this service. Flybe transports pets in the hold as cargo (details: Globe Air Cargo 0208 757 4776). However, it will not transport animals on international routes. EasyJet and Ryanair don’t carry animals and will only transport service animals from some airports. If travelling around Europe, Germanwings transports cats or dogs up in the cabin if they weigh no more than 8kg (17lbs). However, they won’t carry pets on flights to the UK and Ireland.

While Choosing Airlines these following tips can be useful.
- For pets in cabin the carrier must fit under the seat and the pet must stay in the carrier at all times while on board. Small cats and dogs are permitted.
- Ensure that you have a valid health certificate issued by a veterinarian.
- For pets traveling in the cargo hold, include two empty dishes (for food and water), accessible from the outside. Also ensure there is absorbent material for litter. Clearly mark phone contacts / name / travel info on the kennel.
